Abstract

The increasing prevalence of antibiotic-resistant microbes challenges modern medicine, posing serious threats to human and animal health. Therefore, we desperately need new antibiotics with novel mechanisms of action and resistance-breaking properties. This edition of Antibiotic Research Protocols in the Springer series Methods in Molecular Biology aims to provide state-of-the-art and novel methods on antibiotic isolation and purifcation, identifcation of antimicrobial killing mechanisms, and methods for the analysis and detection of microbial adaptation strategies.
