Abstract: | This volume is an important contribution to a rapidly expanding field that clearly has great therapeutic promise, especially in the context of bone marrow transplantation. Bone marrow is special in that transplantation of the stem cells into the bloodstream home naturally to bone marrow niches, where they assume a normal physiological role. It is important that studies with stem cells be done in a scientific manner with appropriate controls and unbiased, long-term assessment. |
